Florida mom arrested at airport for leaving 4 kids home alone during work trip to Vegas

The investigation began when a child called 911 reporting a dumbbell fell on her brother's head, deputies say. A Central Florida mother, Irene Miller, has been charged with several counts of child neglect for leaving her four children home alone while she was on a work trip to Las Vegas. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call on Oct. 21 from a 9-year-old boy whose sister reported an injury to her brother after a dumbbell fell onto his head. Deputies found no adults present at the home and four children, ages 14, 12, 11 and 9, had been left unsupervised. Miller, identified as Miller, told deputies that she was working in Las Vegas and was due to return on Oct., 23. The children's father was contacted and agreed to take them to his home. Miller was arrested as she exited her flight from Las Vegas at Orlando International Airport and booked at the Orange County jail.
