In their first game back together in over two months, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey shined as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Miami Heat 109-105 Thursday night.

Embiid had 29 points while Maxey had 37 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds in the win. Embiid had been out since January after a meniscus procedure, returning to action on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder when Maxey did not play. Finally back on the court together, Embiid and Maxey didn't miss a beat.

After the win, fans praised Embiid and Maxey for carrying the 76ers to a crucial win.

The win was much needed for the 76ers at this point in the season. Philadelphia still sits in eighth place, but is now just half a game behind the Heat and a game behind the sixth-seeded Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference standings.

The 76ers struggled without Embiid and it certainly hurt their playoff seeding, but with the reigning MVP back on the court, Philadelphia could make a big run to secure a top-six seed and avoid the Play-In tournament.

The 76ers have five games remaining this season and will take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.
