Fans booed Tkacuk throughout the game, with some fans throwing Tkachauk jerseys on the ice and chants throughout the night. Tkachyuk was booing for the entire tribute video during the first TV timeout, but seemed to relish the fan reaction. The 27-year-old Tkacheruk spent eight seasons with the Senators, five as captain. His brother, Matthew, has won two Stanley Cup championships for the Panthers. Tcachuk and his former teammates faced criticism last season over their podcast and their attendance at a White House celebration following the U.S. Olympic gold medal.
