FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - One person is dead and one is injured after a crane collapsed on a bridge in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Rescue responded to the Southeast 3rd Avenue bridge over the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale at around 4:30 p.m., Tuesday.

Aerial footage from 7Skyforce showed a large presence of first responders as well as two damaged vehicles.

According to police, one person under the bridge was killed and the driver of a vehicle was rushed to an area hospital.

The Southeast 3rd Street bridge is closed to traffic.
