Federal agents have swooped on the homes of music mogul Diddy, amid allegations of sex trafficking and other crimes, according to law enforcement sources. Properties belonging to Sean "Diddy" Combs in Los Angeles and Miami were searched as part of a federal investigation out of the Southern District of New York, NBC News reported on Monday.

The investigation closely follows a spate of lawsuits that were filed against the rapper since November. Insiders familiar with the matter say that three women and a man have already been interviewed by federal officials concerning accusations spanning sex trafficking, sexual assault, and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms. The same source also indicated that three other subjects are scheduled to be interviewed.

Officials from Homeland Security Investigations confirmed that they "executed law enforcement actions" in New York, with additional operations by teams in Los Angeles and Miami, as detailed in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. Homelands Security had not named Diddy as the focus of the investigation.

The bicoastal raids saw federal agents seizing phones from Combs in Miami before his scheduled departure for a trip to the Bahamas, according to three law enforcement individuals acquainted with the warrant. At the time of the search, Combs was in the Miami area, and it was not immediately clear if Diddy proceeded with his travel plans.

Adding to Diddy's legal woes, his former romantic partner, Cassie, has accused him of physical and sexual abuse over the years, allegations she presented in a lawsuit filed last year in New York. The claim surfaced under the New York Adult Survivors Act, which permits adult victims of sexual assault to come forward with civil claims regardless of the statute of limitations.

Diddy's attorney, Aaron Dyer, pushed back against the way the searches were conducted, saying, "Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. " Dyer's full statement was released following the raids and cited by FOX 10 Phoenix.

Meanwhile, representatives for Combs have not yet responded to requests for comment made by NBC News.
